Overview

Huế is a city in Vietnam, in Thừa Thiên Huế Province. About 1.4 million people live in the city proper, making it the 5th largest city of Vietnam in our atlas.

It lies at 16.46° N, 107.60° E, about 8 m (26 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Asia/Bangkok time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Climate

Huế has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen Am). The warmest month is usually Jun, with average highs near 32°C (89°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about 18°C (64°F). Around 2,161 mm (85 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Oct.
