Overview
Haiphong is a city in Vietnam, in Hai Phong. About 2.6 million people live in the city proper, making it the 3rd largest city of Vietnam in our atlas.
It lies at 20.86° N, 106.68° E, about 12 m (39 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Asia/Bangkok time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Haiphong has a humid subtropical (dry winter) climate (Köppen Cwa). The warmest month is usually Jun, with average highs near 30°C (87°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about 12°C (53°F). Around 1,645 mm (65 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Aug.
