Overview
Donetsk is a city in Ukraine. About 901,645 people live in the city proper, making it the 5th largest city of Ukraine in our atlas.
It lies at 48.02° N, 37.80° E, about 223 m (732 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Europe/Kyiv time zone.

Climate
Donetsk has a continental (hot summer) climate (Köppen Dfa). The warmest month is usually Jul, with average highs near 30°C (87°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about -8°C (17°F). Around 528 mm (21 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
