Overview

Medellín is a city in Colombia, in Antioquia. About 2.0 million people live in the city proper, making it the 3rd largest city of Colombia in our atlas.

It lies at 6.25° N, 75.57° W, about 1,405 m (4,610 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the America/Bogota time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Climate

Medellín has a temperate oceanic climate (Köppen Cfb). The warmest month is usually Feb, with average highs near 22°C (72°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about 14°C (56°F). Around 2,270 mm (89 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
