Overview
Marseille is a city in France, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. About 877,215 people live in the city proper, making it the 2nd largest city of France in our atlas.
It lies at 43.30° N, 5.38° E, about 28 m (92 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Europe/Paris time zone.

Marseille has a Mediterranean (hot summer) climate (Köppen Csa). The warmest month is usually Jul, with average highs near 31°C (88°F); the coolest nights come in Feb at about 1°C (34°F). Around 556 mm (22 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Nov.
