Overview
Paris is the capital of France, in Île-de-France. About 2.1 million people live in the city proper, making it the 1st largest city of France in our atlas.
It lies at 48.85° N, 2.35° E, about 42 m (138 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Europe/Paris time zone.

Climate
Paris has a temperate oceanic climate (Köppen Cfb). The warmest month is usually Jul, with average highs near 25°C (77°F); the coolest nights come in Feb at about 0°C (32°F). Around 662 mm (26 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
