Overview
Cusco is a city in Peru, in Cuzco Department. About 428,450 people live in the city proper, making it the 8th largest city of Peru in our atlas.
It lies at 13.53° S, 71.97° W, about 3,312 m (10,866 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the America/Lima time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Climate
Cusco has a tundra climate (Köppen ET). The warmest month is usually Oct, with average highs near 15°C (59°F); the coolest nights come in Jul at about 1°C (34°F). Around 718 mm (28 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Dec.
