Overview

Tirana is the capital of Albania. About 418,495 people live in the city proper, making it the 1st largest city of Albania in our atlas.

It lies at 41.33° N, 19.82° E, about 113 m (371 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Europe/Tirane time zone.

Climate

Tirana has a Mediterranean (hot summer) climate (Köppen Csa). The warmest month is usually Aug, with average highs near 31°C (87°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about -2°C (29°F). Around 874 mm (34 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
