Overview

Port of Spain is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. About 49,031 people live in the city proper, making it the 4th largest city of Trinidad and Tobago in our atlas.

It lies at 10.67° N, 61.52° W, about 21 m (69 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the America/Port_of_Spain time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Climate

Port of Spain has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen Am). The warmest month is usually Apr, with average highs near 31°C (87°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about 23°C (73°F). Around 1,720 mm (68 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Jun.
