Overview
Nuuk is the capital of Greenland, in Sermersooq. About 14,798 people live in the city proper.
It lies at 64.18° N, 51.72° W, about 5 m (16 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the America/Nuuk time zone. At this high latitude, summer days are very long and winter days very short.

Climate
Nuuk has a tundra climate (Köppen ET). The warmest month is usually Jul, with average highs near 8°C (46°F); the coolest nights come in Feb at about -10°C (15°F). Around 885 mm (35 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
