Overview
Mbarara is a city in Uganda, in Western Region. About 221,300 people live in the city proper, making it the 6th largest city of Uganda in our atlas.
It lies at 0.60° S, 30.65° E, about 1,422 m (4,665 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Africa/Kampala time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Mbarara has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen Aw). The warmest month is usually Feb, with average highs near 28°C (82°F); the coolest nights come in Jul at about 14°C (58°F). Around 1,091 mm (43 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, spread fairly evenly through the year.
