Makeni is a city in Sierra Leone, in Northern Province. About 85,116 people live in the city proper, making it the 5th largest city of Sierra Leone in our atlas.

It lies at 8.89° N, 12.04° W, about 93 m (305 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Africa/Freetown time zone. It sits inside the tropics.
