Overview
Isfahan is a city in Iran. About 1.5 million people live in the city proper, making it the 2nd largest city of Iran in our atlas.
It lies at 32.65° N, 51.67° E, about 1,578 m (5,177 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Asia/Tehran time zone.

Climate
Isfahan has a cold semi-arid climate (Köppen BSk). The warmest month is usually Jul, with average highs near 38°C (100°F); the coolest nights come in Jan at about -4°C (25°F). Around 166 mm (7 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Mar.
