Overview
Douala is a city in Cameroon, in Littoral. About 1.3 million people live in the city proper, making it the 1st largest city of Cameroon in our atlas.
It lies at 4.05° N, 9.70° E, about 19 m (62 ft) above sea level, and keeps time on the Africa/Douala time zone. It sits inside the tropics.

Climate
Douala has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen Am). The warmest month is usually Jan, with average highs near 31°C (87°F); the coolest nights come in Aug at about 22°C (71°F). Around 2,452 mm (97 in) of rain and snow falls in a typical year, most of it in Aug.
